Agriculture Session of “Post-COVID-19: Recovering SMEs” Online Conference was held
On July 1, 2020, the Agriculture session of the “Post-COVID-19: Recovering SMEs” online conference, organized by the CCIAF in partnership with KOBIA, was held. At the session, Ziya Ibrahimov, Managing Director at the Baker Tilly Azerbaijan; Niyazi Abbasov, Director of Business Advisory Services at the Baker Tilly Azerbaijan; and Jala Sardarli, Project Manager at Ekvita shared information with the SMEs operating in the agricultural sector.
Zibar Huseynova, Managing Director of the CCIAF greeted the guests and thanked the speakers. Then Jala Sardarli spoke about the Strategic Road Map of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the importance of the agriculture sector. She informed the participants about the state support for the development of this sector, as well as support programs of international organizations and donor companies.
Niyazi Abbasov compared the pre-pandemic and current situation of the agriculture sector and spoke about the reforms in this area. He informed the participants about the subsidy and discount mechanisms for SMEs operating in this area.
Noting the importance of benefiting from international experience in the agriculture sector, Ziya Ibrahimov shared information on key performance indicators in the field of agriculture and the main areas in which SMEs contribute. He also spoke about digital technologies and innovation in this sector.
In the end, the speakers answered the questions of the participants.
