Workshop on Women Entrepreneurship and Skill Development

On 24th of September 2019, Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly organized the workshop on Women Entrepreneurship and Skill Development to support women- entrepreneurs engaged in the production of handmade items.
The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with basic knowledge needed to run a business. The following topics were covered during the workshop:

– Basic accounting, issuance of compulsory electronic invoices, and tax reporting;
– Revenue management;
– Legal set-up and contract drafting;
– Social Media Marketing.

Mrs. Gunel Hadiyeva, Senior Tax Manager at Ekvita talked about tax accounting, reporting, and tax compliance as well as explained new amendments of the Tax Code, which have been made for the benefit of taxpayers.

Following her, Mrs. Sevinj Rustamova, Project Manager at AMFA, briefed participants about the key areas of revenue management such as supply and demand, rates and pricing, segmentation, the importance of market intelligence, an introduction to forecasting and etc.

Next, Ms. Sabina Khalilova, Senior Tax&Law Manager at Ernst & Young, explained the legal details of business setup to the entrepreneurs. She informed them about administrative systems, trademarks and copyrights registration, formalities and contracts drafting.

The seminar concluded with presentation on Social Media Marketing by Mrs. Inara Mirzazade, Head of Marketing department at Ders Evi. She shared her knowledge and experience on social media marketing, talked about a range of social media management tools that help entrepreneurs build their brand, increase sales and grow their businesses.

Each presentation was followed by Q&A session.
