AFCHamber ESG Committee Hosts Circular Economy Event at Paprec Energy Azerbaijan.
AFCHamber successfully held an ESG Committee event on 05 February 2026 at the Baku Waste to Energy Plant in Balakhani, bringing together members and partners for an in-depth discussion on circular economy, energy, and sustainable development
The program commenced with a health, safety, and environmental (HSE) briefing at the factory, followed by a guided site visit, providing participants with practical insight into Paprec’s waste management and energy recovery operations
After a networking coffee break, the event officially opened with welcome remarks by Ms. Madina Jafarli, Chairperson of the AFCHamber ESG Committee, who highlighted the importance of ESG integration and collaboration among businesses
The training session featured expert-led presentations, including:
· Ms. Fidan Hasanova, Senior Consultant at Deloitte, who delivered a session on Managing Energy and Waste for Sustainable Development.
· Mr. Murad Huseynov, Consultant at Sustainera, who presented on EBRD-sponsored products for SMEs and available sustainability-focused financing opportunities
The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by lunch and networking, allowing participants to exchange views, experiences, and potential collaboration ideas in an informal setting
