AFchamber Tax, Legal, and Finance Committee held an Event on Advancing Competition and Public Procurement: Regulatory Reforms with Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
On November 3, 2023, the AFchamber Tax, Legal, and Finance Committee held an event for AFchamber members and EU companies on the subject of “Advancing Competition and Public Procurement: Regulatory Reforms” with the Antimonopoly-and-Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
The main part of the event was dedicated to the new public procurement law which will come enter force on 1 January, 2024.
The event started with opening remarks from Zibar Huseynova, Managing Director at AFchamber, and Sabina Khalilova, Chair of the AFchamber Tax, Legal and Finance Committee and tax Director at EY.
In the first part of the event, Elnur Baghirov, Deputy Head of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, spoke on the topic of “Advancing Competition and Public Procurement: Regulatory Reforms.”
In the second part, Ahmad Hasanov, Head of the Public Procurement Department at the State Service for Antimonopoly-and-Consumer Market Control, conducted a workshop about new law with business representatives.
The event continued with a lively discussion of the topic and Q&A session.
