CCIAF business meeting to be held with the State Customs Committee
On November 25, 2019, the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized its monthly business meeting on the topic of “Reforms in Custom Services: Cooperation with businesses and prospects” with the State Customs Committee.
The event was attended by Mr. Safar Mehdiyev, the Chair of the State Customs Committee, H.E. Mr. Zaharie Gross, the Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Kestutis Jankauskas, Head of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan, deputy-chairs and heads of divisions of the Committee as well as directors and managers of the CCIAF member companies.
The event started with welcome speech of Ms. Zibar Huseynova, Managing Director of the CCIAF. She greeted guests and invited the ambassadors to deliver opening remarks. Then Ms. Teyba Guliyeva, Chair of the Management Board welcomed guests and expressed her appreciation to the distinguished guests.
Following opening remarks, Mr. Safar Mehdiyev, guest speaker of the meeting, gave detailed information on new reforms in custom services, such as minimizing contacts between officials and entrepreneurs, modernizing Committee administration, implementing Green Corridor system and innovative technologies, and etc. The Chair highlighted that full automation of the process customs clearance is one of the main goal of the Committee. In this regard, they increase the efforts to apply information technologies and use blockchain technology.
Chair concluded his presentation by welcoming questions from the audience.
The meeting was followed by a networking session.
