On 19 April 2022, AFchamber HR and Education Committees organized a round-table discussion event at ADA University, on “Narrowing Gaps Between Industry Sector and The Higher Education” with the participation of Mr. Mustafa Abbasbeyli, Chairman of The Board at State Employment Agency, as guest speaker.

The purpose of the event was to identify the main challenges and expectations faced by higher education universities and industrial companies in the training and recruitment process of industry sector professionals.

The event started with welcoming remarks by Zacharie Gross, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan and opening speech by Zibar Huseynova, Managing Director of AFchamber. Mustafa Abbasbeyli, Chairman of The Board at State Employment Agency participated at the event as main guest speaker and gave comprehensive information about the latest trends in the labor market, new qualifications, as well as the important role of the state and the Agency in bridging the gap between education and the labor market. Emphasizing the importance of digitalization reforms in this area, Mustafa Abbasbeyli briefed participants on the new projects implemented to increase employment, such as “Create a CV”, “Youth Business Workshop”.

Samira Najafova Chair of AFchamber HR Committee, Latifa Nasibova, and Elvin Gasimov, Deputy Chairs of Education Committee presented the findings on the issue based on information and surveys obtained from HR specialists from main industrial companies and representatives from major universities in the country, moderated by Fariz Ismayilzade, Chair at AFchamber Education Committee.

The directors and HR specialists of the main international and local industry companies, and vice-rectors, deans and career department representatives from major higher education institutions participated in the event.

The event continued with open discussion and Q&A sessions.
