AFchamber held an online meeting on “New strategy of Azerbaijan Investment Company”
AFchamber in cooperation with MEDEF International held an online meeting on “New strategy of Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC)”. The purpose of the meeting was to inform AFChamber and MEDEF member companies about new investment opportunities and directions of AIC. French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zacharie Gross, Executive Director of AIC Ulvi Mansurov, a diplomat for trade and economic Affairs of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France Suliddin Mammadov, Head of AZPROMO Yusif Abdullayev, CEO of MEDEF International Philippe Gautier, Chair of AFchamber Board Teyba Guliyeva, and representatives of AFchamber and MEDEF members attended the online meeting.
Mr. Gautier opened the meeting. He talked about the MEDEF activities in the country and highlighted the importance of AFchamber and MEDEF cooperation in order to promote business relations between the two countries.
Ms. Teyba Guliyeva noted that French companies are active in the various field of the economy of Azerbaijan and continue to invest in the country. By stressing the importance of sharing updates about financial instruments, tools for investing in Azerbaijan, she expressed her appreciation to guest speaker Ulvi Mansurov, honored guests, participants, and MEDEF for its cooperation.
Ambassador Gross said that the French government continues the dialogue with Azerbaijan to deepen bilateral relations and talked about the visits of the French government officials to Azerbaijan and their positive results. He stressed that a cooperative approach, public-private partnership is more important for both countries in the post-Covid period.
Mr. Ulvi Mansurov, guest speaker of the meeting briefed guests about AIC, its objectives, investment principles, and presented advantages of investment with the AIC. He shared priority directions and gave detailed information about these directions – heavy industry, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, green energy, and logistics.
In the context of “Why invest to Azerbaijan” he talked about the bilateral investment, free trade agreements of Azerbaijan, strong sides of the business climate of the country, special conditions (IDPs), streamlined procedures, and expected reforms. He also informed guests about the investment climate and state financing mechanisms.
