AFchamber held an online meeting with Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service
On June 3, 2021, AFchamber held an online meeting with Mr. Vusal Huseynov, Chief of the State Migration Service. The purpose of the meeting was to inform the business community about the recent developments in migration management and updates on the work permit quota e-service which was improved following the EU Business Climate Report Azerbaijan 2020.
Zacharie Gross, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, and Kestutis Jankauskas, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan participated in the meeting as the honorary guests. The event was attended by representatives of the business community.
In her opening remarks, Zibar Huseynova, Managing Director at AFchamber expressed her gratitude to Mr. Vusal Huseynov and the ambassadors for accepting the invitation and participating in the event. Touching upon the position of companies on the State Migration Service in the EU Business Climate Report Azerbaijan 2020 co-authored by the Chamber, Zibar Huseynova stressed that the activities of the Service were highly appreciated by the business community. She noted that the reforms which were implemented by the Service in a short time according to the business community recommendations indicated in the Report are commendable.
Ambassador Zacharie Gross noted the importance of such a partnership between the public and private sectors and emphasized that he highly appreciated the active cooperation of the State Migration Service with business representatives in this regard. Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas spoke about the EU’s projects in the field of migration and its successful cooperation with the State Migration Service.
Vusal Huseynov highlighted that it was important to hold regular meetings with the business sector. He noted that as a result of this cooperation, migration policy was assessed as one of the 5 best local indicators in the EU Business Climate Report Azerbaijan 2020. Then Vusal Huseynov provided detailed information about the work permit quota, forecast information on the demand for foreign labor, permission for temporary residence e-services which were updated following the Report.
The meeting continued with answering questions from business representatives.
