EU Business Mission to Nakhchivan AR!

On 4 November, the second day of the EU, Business Mission started with a meeting at Nakhchivan State University. At the meeting, which was held at the Faculty of International Relations and Law of the Higher Education Institution, Elbrus Isayev, the Rector of the University welcomed the guests and expressed his satisfaction to welcome such a large diplomatic delegation here. It was emphasized that most of the diplomatic missions here today visited Nakhchivan State University several times and gave lectures to students. Elbrus Isayev spoke about the international cooperation of the higher education institution with the universities of the countries that are members of the European Union within the framework of the ERASMUS project. It was pointed out that within the framework of this project, the teaching staff of Nakhchivan State University participated at various trainings in European countries and gained experience.
Ambassador Petr Mikhalko, the head of the representation of the European Union in Azerbaijan, greeted everyone and expressed that he was glad to be at Nakhchivan State University. The diplomat talked about the successes achieved in the field of education along with the trade and goods circulation between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
As part of the visit, the guests visited “Family Farm Products” festival at Nakhchivangala History-Architecture Museum Complex, monuments such as “Khan Palace”, “Momina Khatun Tomb”, and “Nakhchivan Open-Air Museum Complex”. The guests who showed interest in the creative artworks bought the handicrafts that were put up for sale in Khan Palace. It was reported the Khan Palace monument is considered a rare pearl of the medieval architecture of Azerbaijan.
During the acquaintance with the tomb of Momina Khatun, it was noted that the tomb, built in 1186, is both a magnificent example of Azerbaijani national architecture and one of the pearls of Eastern architecture. Since 1998, the monument has been included in UNESCO’s list of Material and Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection.
The guests who came to “Duzdag Physiotherapy Center” received detailed information about the natural possibilities and therapeutic properties of this place. The guests were closely interested in the conditions of the center and found answers to questions about the patient’s stay and prices.
Then the European guests arrived at the Sedarak Customs Border-Release Point and received extensive information about the capabilities of the modern complex. It was pointed out that VIP and CIP services, cargo clearance buildings, canine service, inspection systems department and other necessary infrastructure have been created at the complex, which allows for high-level organization of border and customs services.
The EU – Azerbaijan business trip to Nakhchivan ended with positive feedbacks from the guests.
