Presentation of AFchamber Education Committee was held

On 20 May 2021, the online meeting of the Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AFchamber) Education Committee was held. The mission and action plan of the newly established Education Committee under the Chamber was presented by the Chair of the Committee Fariz Ismailzade, Deputy Chairs Latifa Nasibova, and Elvin Gasimov. The purpose of the Education Committee is to create a platform for dialogue between the private sector and educational institutions. The meeting was attended by Idris Musayev, Director of Baku State Vocational Education Center; Agil Shirinov, Rector of Theology Institute of Azerbaijan; Elkhan Huseynov, Rector of Sumgait State University; Gulu Novruzov, Rector of Academy of State Customs Committee; Havar Mammadov, Rector of Baku Engineering University; Irada Khalilova, Rector of Khazar University; Jafar Jafarov, Rector of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University; Mustafa Babanli, Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University; Shahin Bayramov, Rector of Mingachevir State University; Elchin Suleymanov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of Baku Engineering University; Nurali Yusifbayli, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Azerbaijan Technical University; Rafig Jamalov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University as well as representatives of the member companies of educational institutions.

In her opening remarks, Managing Director of the Chamber, Zibar Huseynova, spoke about AFchamber activities regarding the public-private partnership and its achievements in the field of education. She noted that the Education Committee will contribute to strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors in this area.

Teyba Guliyeva, Chair of AFchamber Management Board, stressed the importance of establishing a dialogue between business and educational institutions to ensure a qualified workforce to meet the labor market demand, noting that the Education Committee will support in this direction.

After the presentation, the future activities of the Committee and suggestions for joint events were discussed with the participants.
